We can't thank Vassar Church of the Nazarene enough for the donations to our schools! Their donations of sweatpants, belts and shoes for our elementary and MS/HS Clothes Closets, as well as school supplies, and personal hygiene products were very much appreciated.
Thank you to each of the members that donated and who have a heart for the needs of the children of our community! Your kindness and generosity has not gone unnoticed!

Just a reminder!
Today from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for a trunk or treat if you are interested!

Vassar High School Government Students Vote in National Student Mock Election
VASSAR HIGH SCHOOL – Mrs. Heinlein’s Government students took part in a
national mock election on October 24, 2024. Students used a state-of-the art online voting
system as they participated in a mock election program sponsored by the Youth
Leadership Initiative (YLI), a national civic education program based at the University of
Virginia Center for Politics. Millions of students have voted in YLI Mock Elections
making it the largest secure, student-only online mock election in the nation.
STUDENT QUOTES:
“The upcoming election is going to be life-altering. No matter what the outcome is, lives
will be changed or destroyed, moral decency ignored, and the truth violated. Personally, I
am very scared for the election and how the public will react to the outcome.”
--Sophomore
“I wonder who will win the election overall and in Michigan. Michigan is a big swing
state with democratic big cities and small republican towns. Most of Michigan is
Republican, but the densely populated areas are Democrat.” -- Senior
“I’m mad because I am one year from voting and can’t vote in this election.” --Senior
“I like that we had a mock election. I think voting is very important and it’s good to have
an understanding of the process. I don’t like any of the presidential candidates, they don’t
respect each other and it shows. I’d prefer one over the other, but to be honest I just wish
we’d have better candidates.” -- Senior
“I think the election is going to be very close and very scary.” --Senior
Results of the YLI National Mock Election will be available the morning of Monday,
November 1, 2024.

Let's continue with our staff introductions! Introducing...Mrs. Bublitz!

Hey Vulcans! Next week is our Fall Intersession—there will be no school for students or staff. Parents, if you signed your student up to attend intersession, make sure your students are on time. If you have any questions, please contact your child's school office. Reminder: Tech Center students are required to attend Tech Center. Please be sure you are on time to catch the bus.

Yesterday, our 10th-grade students visited the MiCareerQuest event. The event provided students with the opportunity to engage with interactive displays highlighting diverse career pathways and talk to employers about the skills and education required for success in their respective fields. Several employers from key industry sectors in Michigan provided students with an interactive, hands-on experience to learn about various Michigan careers that are high in demand.
