Don't forget to get your summer school forms in by June 13th. These went home with students recently. Don't wait spots are limited and will be first come, first served. Summer school dates are July 8-August 2.


As a reminder, we will host Superintendent interviews tonight, June 5, 2024, in the Auditorium at 5 o'clock. Final Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, at 5:30, also in the auditorium. We encourage everyone to attend these two interview sessions. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on feedback forms with the board. We hope you can attend and be an active participant in our search.


We were just notified that the district cannot receive incoming calls at this time. Our technology team is working to correct this. Good Morning! Last night, the Vassar Board of Education invited five candidates to interview for the Superintendent position within the district. Initial Interviews will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 5:00 in the Randal and Patricia Middlin Auditorium. A complete list of candidates and interview times are attached. Parents, students, staff, and community members are encouraged to attend these interviews, as you can share feedback after each interview with board members.


Hey Vulcans welcome to June! That means we are almost at the end of the school year. Make sure you stay focused and put the work in!


Tonight, 11 Varsity Track and Field Athletes competed at the 2024 Thumb Meet of Champions. This meet is by invitation only and hosts 28 area schools. Tonight, the girls' 4 x 200m relay consisting of Jayla Kus, Addison Kodrick, Jayda Wilson, and Paytyn Sweat, along with High Jumper Austin Long, all placed third in their events to earn their place on the Meet of Champions podium. Each year, the meet also highlights a friend of youth in each district. This year, Vassar's Friend of Youth Award recipient was Mr. Steve Gleeson. Mr. Gleeson is a dedicated former alumni and athletic director for the district. He has significantly enriched youth sports and activities over the years. He is the current president of the Vassar Athletic Association and a devoted father. Mr. Gleeseon's commitment to Vassar athletics spans from coaching and being in the classroom to helping with the Fun and Fit after-school program. His unwavering support and leadership continue to inspire and uplift Vassar's youth.

Vassar Public Schools will be closed Thursday, May 23, through Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. As you celebrate your long weekend take time to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The school will resume on Tuesday, May 28.

Board Vacanct to be eligible, an applicant must:
Be registered to vote in the Vassar school district, at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, a resident of the state of Michigan for at least 30 days, and a resident of the Vassar school district.


Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24, will be a half day for students due to Teacher Professional Development in the afternoon.

Good Evening 6-12 Families! Students in grades 6, 7, and 12 will have no school tomorrow Wednesday, April 10, due to PSAT and SAT testing. Students in grades 8-10 will be dismissed at approximately 1 pm, lunch will be provided, and a special bus run will occur for these students. Students in grade 11 will be dismissed, as usual, along with elementary students. As a reminder, phones, smart watches, headphones, and other electronic devices are prohibited in testing rooms. Any student who brings these items to school on April 10th must turn them in. Please ask your student to leave electronics at home on the testing day if possible. Due to testing, there will be no tech center for grade 12. Thank you for your cooperation.
