Two of our talented Drama Club students Breonna Wachner (12th) and Lillian White (12th), recently took part in the Vassar Historical Societyās Cemetery Walk on Saturday, October 8, 2025! Both students dressed in period costume and shared the life story of an individual laid to rest in the cemetery. The stories were carefully researched and provided by the Vassar Historical Society. This meaningful event connected our students with Vassarās rich past and gave them a chance to bring local history to life in a truly memorable way.
A huge thank-you to the Vassar Historical Society for this unique opportunity and for helping preserve the stories that make our community so special.
What an incredible week we had at Vassar celebrating Homecoming 2025! Our students and staff showed outstanding school spirit all week long ā from creative spirit dress-up days and hallway decorations to the excitement of the pep assembly and parade. š§”š¤
The week wrapped up with a night to remember as we crowned our 2025 Homecoming King and Queen and cheered our football team on to a Vulcan victory! šš„

Intersession forms are available starting today! October Intersession for Vassar Public Schools students, grades 9-12 will take place from October 27 to October 31, 2025. Please read this information carefully!
Credit recovery will be available for 9th-12th grade students. Students will only be able to access their courses during the Intersession school day while present.
Attendance make-up is available for students in grades 6-12 who need to make up existing absences. Students may make up to 5 days by attending the full session (7:50 a.m. ā 2:45 p.m.).
Transportation:
Transportation will be provided for students attending Intersession, as well as for Tech Center students. Please indicate your pick-up and drop-off address on the registration form. Note: The address must remain the same for all five days.
Registration Deadline:
All forms must be submitted to the office by October 20, 2025. Late forms will not be accepted.
Special Notes:
1. Students attending the Tuscola Technology Center are expected to attend TTC during Intersession. Transportation will be provided. Please complete one registration form per student.
2. Consent for emergency medical care and field trip participation is required.
3. Vassar Public Schools may deny enrollment for behavioral or academic reasons.
Intersession is not a make-up for school closures and will not be made up if canceled.

Nicolas Folino (10th)
Nickolas is a fantastic leader who brings so much energy and desire to learn to the classroom. He is kind to classmates and teachers and overall is a great student.
Robert Allard (9th)
You can always count on Robby to be there to help, and he stays to make sure things are properly finished.
Ledger Opperman-Bostater (6th)
Ledger stands at the front door every morning holding the door for all the students entering the building by the flagpole. From the time he gets dropped off, until the bell rings, he is standing at the door holding it for everyone to enter. Nice Job Ledger!
Sara Emery (12th):
Sara has quickly become a student leader in her government team. She is kind and helps direct her peers.
Lemuel Golden (6th):
Lem has shown that he is willing to go extra to help others out. He has helped students get caught up with work when they have missed school. He also will very politely correct students to get them to focus on what they are supposed to be doing. He truly shows what a positive Vulcan is all about.

September was a busy month for college and career exploration at Vassar! Our students had the opportunity to meet with representatives from a variety of colleges, universities, and organizations to learn more about their future options.
This month, we welcomed visitors from Mid Michigan School of Cosmetology, Ironworkers Union Local 25, Saginaw Valley State University, Kettering University, Lawrence Technological University, Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University. Representatives from the National Guard and U.S. Marines also joined us during lunches to talk with students about military pathways.
Weāre grateful to all of these organizations for taking the time to speak with our students and help them explore their college and career options!
We hope to see everyone out at the Pumpkin Roll next Saturday, Oct. 11! Looks like a lot of fun for the whole family!

Throughout the week, students will enjoy themed spirit days, fun activities, and exciting events. Weād love for parents, families, alumni, and community members to get involved too!
Ways to participate:
Encourage your student to dress up for spirit days.
Come out and support our students at the parade, volleyball games, and football game.
Join the parade as a business, alum, or community member (contact Toni Scribner at tscribner@vassar.k12.mi.us for more details).
Cheer loudly and proudly at all eventsāletās fill the stands with orange and black!

š Friday, Oct. 10 ā Parade at 5:00 PM (line up at 4:30 PM), followed by the Varsity Football Game at 7:00 PM (Queen crowned at halftime)
š Saturday, Oct. 11 ā Homecoming Dance, 7:00ā10:00 PM (HS students only, $5)

Every student who had their picture taken received a School ID, even if they did not purchase pictures. These School IDs can be presented at our home sporting events for discounted admission of only $1.00!
Additionally, each student received an envelope with proof of their picture. Parents can still place orders for pictures if they wish.
If your child missed Picture Day, retakes will be on October 24, 2025.
