Austin is a Graphics Design student at Delta College and a part-time employee here at VPS. High School Athletic practices will continue as scheduled for this evening. Vassar Thespians will present Newsies the Musical in the High School Auditorium tonight and tomorrow at 7 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets are $7 at the door. Middle School Athletic practices and games have been canceled for this evening.
Vassar Community- the safety of our students, staff, and community members is of the utmost importance. Administration would like to allow time for plow and salt trucks to continue working on the roads before they make a decision on after school events including the highly anticipated musical "Newsies". This morning we discovered technical issues with our robocall and text messaging system. We understand that this is a vital point of communication for our families, and we apologize for any inconvenience these outages may have caused. The district is working closely with the company and hopes to have these services restored soon. In the meantime, please check Facebook or the website for updates.
Ashley had a great race today she finished 41st out of 250 of the best runners in D3! Ashley finished her career by running a 20:19. Last year she finished 109th at the State meet. The prior year she finished 179th. We are so incredibly proud of what she accomplished through her cross country career here at Vassar.
Thank you to those that drove down to cheer Ashley on at her final High School meet.

The Mitten just gave us all one more reason for seniors to complete the FAFSA and stay here in Michigan. Effective today the State of Michigan is sponsoring up to an an additional $5,500 of renewable scholarship money for Michigan graduates. This is good at Community Colleges, State and public Universities and even accredited private schools.

These students had artwork chosen to be on display at Frankenmuth Credit Union, the location next to Dragon Palace. Their artwork will be on display throughout the month of November, we hope you have time to stop in and visit the display.

Still looking for resources to help your Senior Vulcan get ready for what comes next after graduation? Delta College and MiStudentAid will both be hosting a series of virtual and in- person financial aid workshops. Delta even has an on-campus workshop on Monday Oct 24th. That might just be a perfect opportunity to take care of the FAFSA, but also see campus and get to ask questions. Even if Delta isn't on your list, the FAFSA help alone is worth the drive. Especially with the FAFSA being a senior requirement, these workshops are a great way to get something from the senior project marked "DONE!"

Good Evening Vulcans! Remember tomorrow Friday, October 14th is Picture Day for Central, Middle School and High School. ALL students will get their picture taken that day for School ID and Yearbook purposes, so please make sure your child is dressed for pictures. If you would like to order pictures, make sure you send the order form and money in with your child, or feel free to order online at www.mylifetouch.com with the Picture ID numbers on the picture attached. Extra order forms are available in each office.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to take a swing at the Robotics Car Smash Fundraiser last Thursday. A very special thank you to Barnum Auto Salvage for sponsoring this event. Despite the poor weather conditions the robotics team raised roughly $200.
Vulcan families! Do you have a senior? Then it's probably time to start thinking about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid- the FAFSA. Not only is this the first step for kiddos planning on college or certificate programs, it is also a requirement as part of EVERY seniors senior project.
The FAFSA application opened this week, so it is the perfect time to get things rolling. We'll have a few opportunities in the coming weeks to get help with the FAFSA, but we know with personal information, some families would rather handle things themselves.
