If you end the semester with 10 or more absences, you will not receive a passing grade for the class, per the District Handbook. Attendance make-ups will take place in Mrs. Barber's room (111). There is nothing better than seeing the success of our former Vulcan Students! Meet Jessica Beckwith, a 2011 graduate of VHS. Jessica earned a bachelor's degree from SVSU in 2015, where she graduated cum laude. She then went to Trine University, where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy. Jessica has been a practicing PT for the last three years, mainly working with Orthopedic patients. Do you know a Vassar graduate with a great story we could share? If so, please send their contact information, a short blurb, and a recent picture to Stacy Esterline at sesterline@vassar.k12.mi.us

Dear Vulcan Families, Our priority is to keep our parents and families informed regarding any incidents involving our campus and students. This afternoon, a report was received of a student who made threats. The 6-12 staff acted immediately, and at no time were students or employees in danger. The Vassar Police Department and the School Resource Officer are investigating; this investigation is ongoing. Providing a safe and secure learning environment is a top priority. Please be assured we take incidents like this very seriously. Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community.

Attention 6th-12th Grade Parents and Students, We have the last opportunity for attendance make-ups starting next week, January 23 - January 26. Attendance make-ups will be credited on an hourly basis, for any student with 10 absences. For example, if you have 10 absences in all 6 hours, for which you earn credit, you will need to attend 6 sessions. If you have 10 absences in only 4 classes, you will be required to attend 4 sessions. Students with 11 or more absences will not be allowed to make-up days and will need to sign up to attend February Intersession and/or Summer School to begin credit make-up. These will be held in Mrs. Barber's room during the following times: Monday and Tuesday 6:45 - 7:45 and 3:15 - 4:15 Wednesday and Thursday 6:45 - 7:45 Thank you!
