Great job Adalyn Mansueto and Alexiah Wall! These two young ladies worked tirelessly to get these bills passed through both chamber committees, both houses, and signed by the governor at the Lansing Youth in Government last weekend. This is an outstanding achievement!

What will happen if voters don't approve the non-homestead renewal and restoration millage? All Michigan school districts must ask voters to approve a non-homestead property tax. If school districts don't follow this procedure established by the Michigan Legislature, they will not receive their full foundation allowance.

January "Be A Star" - sponsored by Vassar True Value Congratulations to Zayne Sentell-9th grade! Zayne was nominated because he found out the drawer for the cash register in the cafeteria wasn't working so he offered to take it home to try and fix it. He took it home and was able to repair it so that it would close properly. Thank you for using your talents to do good things Zayne! Congratulations Tony Lopez-7th grade! Tony was nominated by one of his teachers who says that each morning Tony is the first person to arrive at class. He goes around the room and puts down all of the chairs, turns on the computer screen, passes out books, etc. Without prompting, he helps him set up the class and ensures every student is good to go when the bell rings; he's dedicated to helping others and ensuring his classmates have everything they need to succeed. Thank you, Tony, for being so helpful to your teachers and thoughtful to your fellow students!
