Vassar Board of Education met on March 14 to review community and stakeholder results from the recent survey that went out regarding the district's Superintendent search. After a thorough review of the data, the board has created their search criteria. This information will be the foundation for the superintendent search. Search Criteria is as follows:
The Vassar Public School District is seeking a superintendent who will work with the Board of Education to continue its implementation of student-centered initiatives while also supporting student growth and strengthening relationships with staff and the community.
VISION/LONG-RANGE PLANNING
• Works with the Board of Education to successfully implement the district’s student-centered initiatives
• Works with the Board of Education, staff and community to follow through with the Strategic Plan and creates the appropriate processes and environment to inspire others
• Promotes a culture of learning, in the classroom, in the home and in the community
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Successful experience working with small, rural communities
• K-12 classroom teaching experience
• Building-level administrative experience
• Previous superintendent experience preferred
• Master’s Degree plus Administrative Certification preferred
• Experience with curriculum development and evaluation
• Experience with budget development and management
• Experience with public relations and communication
