PRINCIPAL, CHUCK FABBRO
Welcome,
The Wolverine Alternative Education program includes four schools on the site of Pioneer Work and Learn Center (camp 1), Wolverine Growth and Recovery Center (camp 2), Vassar House, and CFC, a treatment center for both males and females. We also offer a GED program and Transition Classes.
Teachers who are highly qualified to teach Math, English, Science, and Social Studies as well as special education teachers are provided to meet each students academic needs. School Psychology and School Social Work Services are also provided, as well as other services identified in students’ IEP’s.
We pride ourselves in the fact that we have less than a 2% failure rate and ten (10) students have graduated from high school during the 2014-15 school year. Eleven (11) students have received their GED. Online college classes have also been offered to students since 2007-2008.
All students receive Transition classes preparing them for their return to the community, including Career Cruising, Work Keys, and a vocational assessment. Students also are offered vocational opportunities in culinary arts, landscaping, and janitorial maintenance.
Students complete volunteer work in the community of Vassar enhancing city parks, assisting in community festivals and other civic events.
I would invite you to visit our schools and Wolverine Human Services programs. I can be contacted to arrange a tour. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the facilities and the work that our staff and the residents do to “Help Children become Victors”!
